Trip to navagraha Navagrah temple temples near Kumbakonam –dosha pariharam rectification of planetary dosha

General tips:

It is Preferable to plan a three day tour. If you can you should visit each of the temples on the weekday at 6.30 am to 7 am meant for it. Generally all the temples close at 12 pm and reopen at 4 pm. So avoid going to the temples during that time. You can rest have lunch and start moving to the next place. If you have come for navagraha dosha pariharam of a particular planet it is preferable to choose the week day of the planet.
You can ask the temple offices inside to provide you the cost details generally none exceed rs.750. it is always advisable to the pooja stuff in the temle though these are normally sold in front of temple. First Day

Bangalore-Hosur-Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri-Salem-Namakkal-Musiri-Srirangam-Thanjavur-Kumbakonam (total distance -450km)
Started at 6am and Reached Kumbakonam at 7:30pm with lot of stop overs.
Roads till Namakkal are an absolute delight to drive NH7, beautiful roads to drive on
Post Namakkal till Srirangam roads are narrow but good to drive on Srirangam to Thanjavur- outer ring roads good wide roads to drive
Thanjavur to Kumbakonam - it's just 35 kms but narrow road with heavy heavy traffic, try avoiding to drive past 6 as the bus drivers tend to become more rash.

Namakkal - Close to Bus stand are the following 2 temples

Narasimha Swamy Temple : Very Old, beautiful sculptured idols.

This Cave temple is one of the best example of the architecture and sculpture intelligence of Pallava’s Kingdom. This cave is really big in size and designed by craving as roof, floor and pillars. The Narsimha features eight armed adorning a prayoga charka, a sword, a conch and a bow. HiranyakashipuThere is also another exquisite piece of art in the temple. It is that of Lakshmi Narayana. This sculpture has been very elaborately carved and even the conch and the discus look outstanding.

Hanumam Idol .

The name Namakkal immediately brings to mind ‘Namakkal Anjaneyar’ – the temple of Hanuman at Namakkal. The idol of Hanuman is 18 feet or so in height, and stands under open sky. Opposite to the Hanuman is a temple of Narasimha.

The most important feature in this temple is the special grace that the lord bestows on the mentally unsound. The temple priests splash holy water on all the devotees, first on the mentally unsound, twice a day to cure them of their problems, and then on the others.
